For All That You Gave
(words & music by: Hubert McCormack)
Right through my childhood, and into my teens.
You brought me joy and affection in reams.
It may not have been easy when I wasn't at home.
But with the love that you gave, I felt never alone.
From my teens to my twenties, you were always about.
It felt good you were there, and of that there's no doubt.
You gave all that you could, and very often times more.
And that's one of the reasons, why you I adore.
For all that you gave, and all you still give.
For all that you've done, and all you still do.
For the love that you've shown, and all you still show.
Thank you. Thank you. Mother, Thank you.
We now fend for ourselves, and you live on you own.
Though we're not always there, do not feel alone.
If you feel like a chat, now that we all have left home
Do not hesitate, just pick up phone.
